Dose Saver Program

Essentially, a Dose Saver is a person who is willing to get the vaccine as soon as possible with last-minute notice.

You would be "saving doses" to fill in the time slots of people that may not show up for their appointment or cannot come due to weather to ensure that none of the vaccine goes to waste.

Thus, you would be a "dose saver." If you can not make it, that's ok. WCHD may call you on another day, or you can still get the vaccine later on when additional clinics are scheduled.

Signing up for the "WCHD Dose Saver Program" does not guarantee you will receive a vaccine or reserve your spot at a future clinic. WCHD staff will reach out to you if a dose saver spot becomes available.

The Woodford County Health Department has begun vaccinating residents of Woodford County, plus those who live or work in Woodford, Tazewell, or Peoria counties as part of a tri-county effort.

Vaccines are given by appointment only. Appointments can be cancelled due to a delay in receiving vaccine.

Those over the age of 65 who have a primary care physician in either OSF St Francis, UnityPoint Health or Carle Eureka hospital systems will be contacted by their hospital system when it is their turn to receive a vaccination.

Due to a very high volume of calls and limited staffing resources, WCHD may not be able to return your call if you have previously left a message. Continue to watch this website and our Facebook page for more information on ways to sign up for a vaccination appointment as it becomes available. Your patience is appreciated.

If you have a vaccine appointment with WCHD, you may print and complete your paperwork to bring with you. We ask that you wear short sleeves to the clinic to aid in the vaccination process. A face mask is required.  You will need to wait at least 15 minutes after receiving your vaccine for monitoring. You will be scheduled for your second dose appointment at this time.

If you have already received your first dose and were not scheduled at that clinic for second vaccination appointment, WCHD will reach out to you via the phone number or email address you provided when you received your first dose.

If you received your first vaccination dose at with another provider or clinic, WCHD cannot schedule you for your second vaccination. You will need to return to the provider that gave you your first dose for your second dose of COVID-19 Vaccine.

WCHD may be offering Moderna or Pfizer vaccine.
